Hello and welcome, I'm Grace the owner of Isla Consignment. Isla is pronounced eye-la (the S is entirely silent) and comes from the Scottish origin meaning island. I chose the name Isla because I have Scottish ancestry and because I grew up on Vancouver Island. I know it's important to know your roots and where you come from while also acknowledging whose land you reside on.
Our business resides on the Unceded Traditional Territory of the K’ómoks First Nation and Pentlatch people, who have called this land home for over 5 thousand years. I pay my respects to the communities past, present, and emerging. I am constantly grateful and inspired to be able to grow my business and live on this land.
I was fortunate enough to grow up on the west coast on Vancouver Island, BC nestled away in the country next to the ocean. Having such a close connection to nature allowed me to appreciate why it is so important to preserve it. The beauty of Vancouver Island and the value of sustainability in fashion have inspired Isla Consignment.
I know the island is so special, like nowhere else on Earth. I've lived and traveled to faraway places but have always been called back to the island, it's my home. Thank you for getting to know me a little better. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you one day too.
